I. Introduction
Siganus or rabbitfish can be found in the tropical water from Indo-Pacific through eastern Mediterranean.
They are Herbivorous and feeds mostly on Algae. They live among shallow coral reefs and jetties.
There are many species and some of the species commonly found on Indonesian waters are:

  • Siganus Guttatus or Orange Spotted Spinefoot, or in Indonesian Baronang Tompel.
  • Siganus Javus or Streaked Spinefoot, or in Indonesian Baronang Angin.
  • Siganus Canaliculatus or White Spotted Spinefoot, or in Indonesian Baronang Susu/Lingkis.
  • Siganus Virgatus or Barehead Spinefoot, or in Indonesian Baronang Kea-kea/Kalung.
  • Siganus Stellatus or Brown Spotted Spinefoot, or in Indonesian Baronang Lada.
  • Siganus Vermiculatus or Vermiculated Spinefoot, or in Indonesian Baronang Batik.

RAFAC (Rabbitfish Anglers Community)

I’m not and not yet become as member of RAFAC, but in my opinion this community was very exciting, because of only looking for rabbitfish, the unique fishing technique, and was full of the sensation for anyone who already try it. Moreover this community’s members are very exciting and amusing if they talking in the forum.

Okay, let’s see what is RAFAC…
RAFAC (Rabbitfish Anglers Community) is very famous fishing community in Indonesia especially within Jakarta area, officially established on Monday, April 16th 2007 at 08.00 GMT. RAFAC is formed to become a place for trully rabbitfish lover or rabbitfisher. An embrio of non-profit organization that is made from same hobby which is rabbitfish fishing.
