These are some of the target fishes. Most of the fish descriptions and some of the images were taken from FishBase.
The giant trevally, Caranx ignobilis, is a species of fish belonging to the Jack/Carangidae family. Also known as ulua in Hawaiian, mamulan in the Marianas, rōnin-aji (”ronin jack”) in Japanese, and “GT” in many places, the giant trevally has many local names.
This fish was always good for fishing target in every month, really be suitable sportfishing using popping technic.
The Mahi-mahi (in Hawaiian), Coryphaena hippurus, also known as common dolphin-fish, dorado maverikos, or lampuki (in Maltese) are surface-dwelling ray-finned fish found in off-shore tropical and subtropical waters worldwide. They are one of only two members of the Coryphaenidae family, the other being the Pompano dolphinfish. The name “mahi-mahi” (”strong-strong” in Hawaiian), particularly used on restaurant menus, has been adopted in recent years to avoid confusing these fish with dolphins, which are mammals.
Tuna are several species of ocean-dwelling fish in the family Scombridae, mostly in the genus Thunnus. Tunas are fast swimmers—they have been clocked at 70 km/h (43 mph)—and include several species that are warm-blooded. Unlike most fish species, which have white flesh, tuna have flesh that is pink to dark red. The red coloring comes from tuna muscle tissue’s greater quantities of myoglobin, an oxygen-binding molecule. Some of the larger tuna species, such as the bluefin tuna, can raise their blood temperature above that of the water through muscular activity. This ability enables them to live in cooler waters and to survive in a wider range of circumstances. Some tuna species and fisheries have been overfished and some tuna fisheries are at risk of collapse.
The rainbow runner, Elagatis bipinnulata (also known as the rainbow yellowtail, Spanish jack and Hawaiian salmon) is a common species of pelagic marine fish of the jack family, Carangidae. The species is widespread throughout the tropical and subtropical waters of the world, inhabiting both coastal as well as far offshore areas. The species is the only member of the genus Elagatis, which was created 15 years after its initial description, and is closely related to the amberjacks. The rainbow runner is easily distinguished by its body shape, and the brilliant colouration which gives the fish its name. It is a fast swimming predator, taking small fish, cephalopods and a wide variety of planktonic crustaceans. The species reaches sexual maturity at around 60 cm, and spawning takes place at different times, with some populations spawning year round, while others at only spawn at certain times of the year. The species is a well known game fish, taken by a variety of fishing methods and is a well rated table fish. Large amounts of the species are taken as bycatch in tuna and shark fishing operations and marketed.
